Mid-Weight Full Stack Developer
Broadsheet Media is looking for an experienced full-stack developer with a passion for web development to join the Scout Jobs team.
Scout focuses on helping our audience find their ideal job in the hospitality, retail and creative industries, and helping businesses in those fields find excellent employees.
You’ll be responsible for the ongoing development of Scout, with the opportunity to be involved in the full process, all the way from initial product planning through to production and potential to own and guide a large part of the codebase.
You need to be happy taking guidance, with a collaborative mindset and open nature, but be able to work independently the majority of the time. You’ll report to the Broadsheet Media Technical Lead.
We work with a range of tools, familiarity with Python, Django, Node.js, SQL, React, etc. are a plus but above all we want to meet people who are enthusiastic about software development and are excited to be involved in the development of a growing product in an interesting space.
What you knowHow to debug complex issues across a production web stack
Responsive web development
Strong understanding of fundamental principles of web development, algorithms and data structures
Distributed version control (we use Git)
Bonus points forExperience working with Python, particularly Django, on commercial projects
Experience with e-commerce, particularly with Python
An in-depth understanding of SQL (MySQL or Postgres), email delivery, HTTP and REST APIs, TCP/IP, etc.
