Edenic Confluence
Proven Django Developer
Introduction
I am looking for Django projects that stretch the mind. As you will see below, I have ample skills to tackle both technical and business problems. I have become an expert both in technology and business process when the situation required. I know the right questions to ask to drive toward a solution.
The Python/Django/GIS Period (2009-Present)
In 2009 I cofounded a real estate research site called TexasWideOpen.com. With only a little python experience, I set out to become the expert I was in C# to build a Django website dealing with GIS data. While the product was a great success, the business wasn't. I am looking for Django/Python work until it takes off.
The CSharp/SQL/Accounting Period (2001-2007)
After coming back from a year sabbatical as a missionary, I returned to Professional Datasolutions, Inc(PDI) to join their team developing a new architecture for their next generation enterprise back-office ERP. There I developed the continuos build system, developed several core business applications, and worked heavily on the architectural components.
The VB Period (1994-2000)
Having interned at Professional Datasolutions, Inc for two years, I set off to further my education. PDI supported my efforts and allowed me to work 30+ hours per week while I took a full load studying theology and philosophy. While there I worked on a site-level decision support system, developed prototypes for an e-learning system, and supported other VB projects.
Diversions
Throughout my career, I have tinkered and dabbled. I wrote three open source projects to teach myself C++ and QT. I modified one open source typing tutor to teach myself a one-handed keyboard. I learned to install linux in the early days of constant kernel recompiling and xmkmf for creating makefiles.
In 2001 I learned Ruby to work on some prototype websites, and have recently piddled with Redis and mongoDB.
At PDI, I advocated for Agile processes and unit testing.
Between 2007 and 2009, I ran a small construction company to test out my business acumen. While I enjoyed running a business, construction was not my cup of tea.
