Law Firm seeks in-house Django Engineer

About Us

We are a rapidly growing law firm specializing in receiverships, a niche area of Texas law. Our development team is expanding to enhance both our internal and public-facing websites that help parties resolve their legal matters efficiently.

Role Overview

Django is core to our tech-stack. You'll join our in-house development team to build innovative solutions for workflow automation, document generation, and web applications serving our internal team, clients and parties to litigation.

Your Tasks

  • Developing and enhancing Django projects as websites or web apps
  • Improving the usability of existing web projects
  • Building responsive/mobile-friendly sites using Django, HTMX and TailwindCSS
  • Expanding our public-facing site functionality including:
  • User profile enhancements
  • Client-access interface
  • Case submission system for potential clients
  • Writing comprehensive tests to maintain high test coverage
  • Meeting specific deadlines for functional component delivery

Your Profile

Required:

  • Documented professional experience as a Django developer
  • In-depth knowledge of moderate to advanced Django concepts, e.g. using Javascript/HTMX to integrate views with templates, local file storage/management, permissions, and building custom admin views
  • Experience with git and GitHub
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfort with regular Zoom meetings and paired programming sessions
  • SQL knowledge
  • Must be based in the U.S., even if working remotely

Bonus:

  • Willingness to work on-site in Texas
  • Experience with HTMX
  • Familiarity with TailwindCSS
  • Experience with pytest and/or Django's integrated testing suite
  • PostgreSQL experience
  • Experience with legacy SQL databases (such as SAP Advantage)
  • Database administration skills
  • Complex SQL report design capabilities
  • API development experience (other than DRF)
  • Workflow automation using Python

Work Environment

  • Newly built-out office space in San Antonio, Texas
  • Collaborative development online through paired programming
  • Use of generative AI tools is encouraged with proper understanding of generated code
