Remote Django Developer - Mid to Senior Level - Contractor
Netlandish is a Downtown Los Angeles, CA based micro agency who's sole focus is Python based projects. We're also old school Django developers and 99% of our web based projects are Django powered. Put simply - Django is our bread and butter. We work with clients and projects of all sizes. Tiny non-profits to large international organizations to some of the largest interactive digital agencies on the planet are listed on our client list. We also have 3 internal products that are in active development and one that is currently being sold to customers all over the world.
We are looking for an experienced Django web developer who can work with our team on some upcoming projects starting early 2015. Remote is OK. We prefer someone who is US based but if you aren't, you must be able to read/write in English and work a schedule that is collaborative with ours (PST or EST). If you happen to be in Southern California and would like to come work from our offices, all the better.
You should also be familiar with Unix / Linux based operating systems. All of our internal servers are running on FreeBSD. Client servers run the matrix of Unices (Mostly FreeBSD and Linux) so please be familiar with the CLI.
Other technologies that you should be familiar with:
- Django 1.4+ (lots of clients come with older code bases)
- nginx / Apache
- uWSGI / Gunicorn
- PostgreSQL / MySQL (rare that we work with MySQL but occasionally we have to)
- Memcached / Redis
- Mercurial / Git (we prefer hg but use both tools daily)
- Fabric
- Celery / RabbitMQ
- HTML / CSS (at least mid-range skills)
- JS / JQuery
If you're interested, please submit your resume, hourly rate, and social code profiles (ie, github, bitbucket, etc.) to jobs@netlandish.com.
Note: This is a contractor role. We stay very busy so we'd love to find a good fit with the rest of the team who can continue to work with us throughout 2015 and beyond. The terms are great, direct deposit is an easy payment option (assuming you're US based), and our culture is hectic but fun. The entire staff is available to help with all problems. Technical or not.
