Freelance Django developper / niche social network project (Paris - fr + en)
Added on August 31, 2010 and expired on September 30, 2010
We're looking for an experienced Django developer to complete our team. We will be working from aprox. november to january 2011 on a collaborative social platform for people in the medical field.
The project has involved a lot of upstream work for several months and is already well defined. Design and initial html/css for most relevant pages will be provided. So your job will be essentially execution, Python/JS programming for the most part, but still with a fair amount of challenge:
- modeling from specs
- server and client side implementation
- testing, fixing, dealing with the details
We are expecting you to take responsibility for specified subsets of the project and to address related issues according to our priorities (ticket system).
The skills we are looking for include :
- good knowledge of Python/Django (know the right way/component to do it)
- some experience with social networks and/or pinax
- proficiency in any modern JavaScript framework like jQuery/Mootools
- ability to meet deadlines and to work in a team
Plus: unit tests/doctests, svn/git/hg, GNU/Linux and open-source culture in general.
Most internal communication will be in French. Documents and specifications will be written in english.
We would preferably have you work full time on-site (in a stimulating ecosystem). We will consider remote work applications as long as you can guarantee a dedicated communication channel on a daily basis. The possibility of meeting in person on a regular basis would also be much appreciated.
Financial compensation is to be discussed according to your background. Contract nature is open (Freelance, cdd, …).
Feel free to provide any material (especially code) that would illustrate your competence, your daily rate and any other information you feel could help us know you better.
Cheers,
David
