Vaco has an immediate direct hire opportunity for a well-rounded Python / Django Developer to join a Triangle-based e-learning company. The Python / Django Developer will design, build, and support customer-facing web applications in a fun, collaborative, fast-paced, open-source development environment. The qualified Python / Django Developer will transform business and system requirements into functional code and maintain involvement in full development life cycle: design, coding, test, build, QA, deployment, and maintenance. The Python / Django Developer will also assist with appliance / virtual machine projects designed to optimize overall performance.

Mandatory Knowledge & Experience – The ideal Python / Django Developer will have the following:

• Strong object-oriented development background
• 3+ years’ experience developing web-based applications utilizing a combination of client and server-side technologies
• Multiple years’ developing in Python utilizing the Django framework
• Strong web applications skill set: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS
• Additional object-oriented languages such as C and C++
• Either very strong front-end skill set with good database skills or a healthy middle-tier experience with very strong database skills
• A love of collaboration and real-time teamwork
• Agile / Scrum experience
• An ability to quickly and effectively understand and translate product and business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience using version control and bug tracking systems

Additional Desired Knowledge & Experience for the Python / Django Developer:

• Passion for education / e-learning is a plus
• Experience with Linux development environments
• Knowledge and experience working with HTML 5.0
• Web based user interface design experience
• An understanding of basic web application security techniques
