Imaginary Landscape, an open source Web development firm in Chicago, is seeking a Systems Administrator to administer technology throughout the organization.

Primary responsibilities include:

● Providing infrastructure support for Linux-based physical and virtual machines (Debian and RedHat-based) ● Provisioning new virtual machines for developers ● Securing and monitoring internal and client-facing machines ● Maintaining backup systems for company PCs and servers ● Assisting developers with Django web application deployment

Qualifications

● At least 2 years of experience maintaining multiple Linux-based servers (experience in a college computer lab setting counts) ● A strong knowledge of maintaining relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL

Bonus Points For

● Experience with Rackspace and Amazon cloud, or similar ● Deployment experience using Apache and/or Nginx ● Proficiency with Django or other Python web frameworks ● Experience with Vagrant and Chef (or other provisioning tool) ● Familiarity with services such as BIND DNS, Nagios, and Supervisord

The ability to write and communicate clearly is of primary importance. You will be responsible for assisting staff with computer-related issues, establishing company-wide IT standards, and providing concise documentation.

This position is located at Imaginary Landscape’s headquarters in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. It is a full-time position and benefits includes 100% company-paid healthcare coverage for spouse and children and an open vacation policy (we don't count the days).
